Overview

Harmony Schuerman is a lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Texas. While growing up learning about the judicial system from her grandfather, a former Tarrant County Judge and Texas State Legislator, she was filled with a great passion for the law. Ms. Schuerman received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Texas Wesleyan University and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law). Immediately after passing the bar exam, Ms. Schuerman opened the Law Offices of Harmony M. Schuerman devoted exclusively to matters of criminal defense.

As described in her own words:

My name is Harmony Schuerman, and I am a criminal defense attorney.

This is usually the first question I am asked about my profession:

How do I feel about defending those that are often deemed “the bad guys”?

We ALL have a right to be considered innocent until proven guilty. The United States Constitution is the cornerstone of a free state and country, which holds the concept of individual liberty as paramount over any intrusion by government. Accordingly, the individual liberty of any person may not be taken without adhering to these constitutional principles, which we basically reference as due process of law. Therefore my job as a criminal defense attorney is not to defend the “guilty” but, to assure due process of law for ALL of my clients, regardless of their circumstance or station in life. The daily task of the criminal defense lawyer is service to the constitution and I embrace this duty totally and unequivocally.

I was born and raised here in Fort Worth, and I have had a job virtually from the time I could work. Because of my dedication to hard work at an early age, I am acutely aware of and sensitive to the daily challenges that my clients face. My practice represents a vast array of our community, and I not only retain clients, but work with court-appointed clients. Very few are fortunate enough to earn a wage that allows them to put away savings in the current economy, but money should never limit a person’s right to a good legal defense. All of my clients are human beings first and foremost, and everyone is given the same respect and care, regardless of their personal circumstances. This is simply the right thing to do.

In addition to representing a vast client base, I have over a decade’s worth of experience in Tarrant, Parker, and surrounding counties, and have extensive experience at the federal level. I have been privileged to work on a vast array of criminal charges, and all are given the same care and consideration when developing a defense. I work diligently in defending anything from a first-time DWI to a time-consuming, life-altering, first degree felony case. Also. education does not end at the schoolhouse. I work on appeals, which affords me an opportunity to review trial strategy and conduct. In addition, I continuously follow developments in the law from court decisions, national and state demographic trends, and continuing education offered in my professional circles

Family is also extremely important to me. I am a mother myself, and I can empathize with the family members of my clients. While my professional obligations are to the individual client, I realize that most situations in the law impact not only the client, but also the family as a whole. These issues are to be considered when evaluating the proper strategy for case resolution.

My practice is primarily composed of females, and we take great pride in our strides to bring diversity to such a predominantly male-centric field. Respect among peers is important for attorneys and earning that is my daily endeavor by adhering to my professional obligations, which includes honesty and integrity in service to clients and the courts. Simply, this is the best formula for positive outcomes for my clients.

I would love the opportunity to discuss any criminal legal issues you may have. Let me know if I can be of assistance. I have two offices located in Fort Worth and Weatherford and to contact me, all you have to do is fill out the contact form on the home page of my website.
